We’ve just slashed our rates to call Bangladesh to 2p per minute. For our USA customers the rate is now 4¢ per min and for Europe the price is 2.6c per min. That rate applies to all Bangladesh phone numbers, mobile and landlines. So get calling!

As you may be aware we held a promotion for half price calls to India during the month of January. From the 1st of February we did increase our prices slightly, but not up to the original tariff that was offered at the end of December. We had hoped that we could keep prices lower by making use of lower cost termination providers in India. This has, however, resulted in lower call quality and reliability, and after feedback from our customers we have realised this is simply not acceptable.

At Localphone we want to give you the best price we can whilst maintaining a service which gives a loud, clear and good quality connection.

We feel therefore that it is necessary to increase our rates as follows, due to our increased cost of termination.

We think that you will agree our rates are still the best around together with local number dialing, no connection charges, no monthly or weekly fees and customer service that is there to help you.

Over the course of the next week we will be migrating all India calls to premium carriers that offer first class connections, loud and clear voice, and caller ID.

The new prices will come into effect at midnight on 11th March 2008.

Today marks the end of our January promotion which was really popular, bringing in lots of new Localphone customers, and a lot of positive feedback about how easy to use the Localphone service is. So, a big thank you to all the customers who have called or emailed us feedback, and a warm welcome to all our new customers from the Localphone team.

We thought we would up the stakes for February: we are going to reward our loyal customers who recommend us to friends and family.

It’s simple really. Recommend a friend and whenever they add credit in the first 90 days you get 10% of whatever they added as bonus call credit, so if you’ve got lots of friends you could be making calls for free!

For Example…

If you recommend five friends and they each, in the first 90 days, add £100 call credit – you will get £50 of free call credit to use calling whoever you like!
