Just as we have done with cheap international calling, we’re going to drive down the cost of sending SMS messages abroad while maintaining a reliable, high-quality service.

As of midnight this morning Eastern Time (5am GMT) all calls to United States landlines and mobiles will be completely free for five days, for all Localphone users new and old.

You can talk for as long as you want, to as many people as you want, any time you want, and we won’t charge you a penny.

Call from your landline or mobile with Direct Dial or Calling Card, or from your PC, iPhone, or other VoIP-enabled mobile with Localphone VoIP.

This offer even applies to our Incoming Numbers service. Buy a number in any of our 46 Incoming Number countries and forward calls to a landline or mobile in the US for free for five days.

Pakistan and India are celebrating their Independence Days on 14th August and 15th August respectively, and to help commemorate the occasions Localphone are offering half price calls each day!

To mark 62 years of Pakistani independence you’ll be able to call any landline or mobile in Pakistan for just 2.85p / 3.95¢ / 3.25c per minute from 18:00 GMT on Thursday 13th until 18:00 GMT on Friday 14th August (midnight to midnight in Pakistan).

Likewise, India’s 62 years of independence sees our rate dropping to just 0.9p / 1.25¢ / 1.05c per minute for calls to any landline or mobile in India between 18:30 GMT on Friday 14th and 18:30 GMT on Saturday 15th August (midnight to midnight in India).

Customers don’t have to do anything to participate in this promotion - the rate will be adjusted automatically and will return to our standard low rates after the day ends (see our Call Pakistan and Call India pages for details).

To celebrate 4th of July and the Canada Day weekend, all Localphone calls to the United States and Canada will be completely free!

Starting from midnight on Saturday morning on the east cost of Canada and lasting until the end of Sunday in Alaska, new and existing Localphone customers won’t pay a penny when calling any US or Canadian landline or mobile.

We hope this promotion will help customers forget the worries of the ongoing financial crisis and to call their friends and family in the US and Canada for as long as they need to at this important time of year.

Calls will be free from 02:30 GMT on Saturday 4th until 08:00 GMT on Monday 6th July. The promotion includes all Localphone Direct Dial, Calling Card, and VoIP calls to standard landline and mobile numbers.

Ushering in the Year of the Ox, Chinese New Year will run from Monday 26th January to Monday 9th February. To celebrate, Localphone will be giving away free calls to Chinese landlines and mobiles each day of the festival.

For all of our customers the first 20 minutes of calls to China each day will be completely free—a massive 5 hours of free talk time over the 15 days. This should be plenty of time to wish a different friend or family member a Happy New Year every day!

We will deduct our cheap call rates to China as usual, and then on 10th February we will credit your account with a rebate for the first twenty minutes of call time to China used each day. You can find out full details on our Chinese New Year calling promotion page.

Diwali starts tomorrow, and for the six days of the festival Localphone will be offering discounted calls to India. If your total call duration over the promotion is more than 200 minutes you can get an effective rate of as low as 2.2p / 3.4¢ / 3c per minute.

After the festival is over we’ll look at how many minutes you used and will top up your calling credit according to the table on our Diwali Promotion page.
